As part of our commitment to creating a place of healing and wellness in the heart of Chicago, we offer both private and community acupuncture services in the South Loop. Acupuncture is a treatment modality that has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years; it involves inserting very thin stainless steel needles into specific points of the body in order to correct the flow of qi and promote better health.
Our private acupuncture treatments allow you more privacy with your acupuncturist. Treatments are held in a private room with a zero-gravity chair or massage table, depending on your needs. We recommend private acupuncture for those with more severe health or chronic pain issues, where access to the back, hips, shoulders, and abdomen is necessary for optimal treatment.
Private acupuncture also allows us to introduce additional modalities that cannot be used during our community acupuncture services, including electro-acupuncture, cupping, essential oils, moxibustion, gua sha, and heat lamps. Private acupuncture can be used to alleviate headaches, allergies, stress, inflammation, and chronic pain. It also supports the reproductive system, the nervous system, the endocrine system, and the digestive system.
These types of treatments take place in our healing studio on a zero-gravity chair or massage table separated by dividers, while other patients are being treated. Most needling will be kept to acupuncture points on the extremities (arms/legs) and occasionally the head or abdomen. Community acupuncture can be very effective for headaches, allergies, colds, stress, digestive, menstrual, neuropathic, chronic inflammatory conditions, and pain.
Community acupuncture treatments are an economical option that allows you to be seen multiple times per week, but the benefits go far beyond affordability—these treatments create a true community of healing. Many of our clients take part in community acupuncture with friends and family and this treatment model reflects how acupuncture is performed in China, where it originated.
